The rear mount wire cage fits our Large Cape May rear mount bicycle basket (smaller cage shown here - this is not the cage you will receive). It secures small skittish dogs or cats and prevents them from jumping out. Most dogs are more comfortable using a basket leash, but it greatly depends on the temperament of your dog. Highly recommended for carrying cats since they don't generally do well with leashes. Also great for keeping light items secure against blowing away while riding.
Our basket cage includes four faux leather straps so you can mount the cage in any way you desire. The total height under the basket is 18 inches. Please check the height of your dog while sitting before ordering.
Optionally, you could use two adjustable basket leashes to keep larger dogs centered while riding.
